Tupiza is a small
and friendly town in the south of Bolivia. Similar to Tilcara it is sourrounded
by perfect western landscapes that show
a variety of cactusses and mountains in different shades of colours. But as it
is located in 3500 meter above sea level it is a lot colder. Tupiza was the
first place in our trip we actually needed our jumpers. It was also a lot cheaper
than in Argentina so we were again able to stay within our budget. The town has
a very friendly welcoming vibe and we felt comfortable from the moment we
arrived.
There are a lot
of tour agencies that offer different kind of activities in the area. But we
decided just to have a short hike starting from the town to get used to the
altitude. We explored the Cañon del Inca, an amazing place carved deep into the mountains.
